Looking In, Looking Out is a programme of Margaret Tait’s silent films which study the interiors and exteriors connected to her life and travels in Kirkwall, Edinburgh and Rome. The selection includes completed films alongside rarely seen unfinished work. The programme is installed in the window of Northlight Gallery and accompanies the exhibition The days never seem the same.
Looking In, Looking Out is curated by Marcus Jack. Jack is an AHRC PhD candidate researching the history of artists’ moving image in Scotland, and is coordinator of Margaret Tait 100.

The exhibition coincides with Film Focus Festival, taking place across Orkney, 1–24 November.
