Ahead of our special Rose Street Film Festival screening (please book separately), join Dr Elsa Richardson and Margaret Tait 100 staff for an informal reading group focusing on the poetry and prose of Margaret Tait. Attendees will be invited to read from a selection of Tait’s writing. Please feel free to bring along your own favourite Tait poem or prose work.

About the contributor

Elsa Richardson lives and works in Glasgow. At the University of Strathclyde she lectures in the history of medicine, psychology and the emotions. Her research considers the relation of heterodox practices, beliefs and movements to mainstream society and culture, with particular focus on the interaction between medicine and the imagination, science and the supernatural, psychology and the occult, and her recent book Second Sight in the Nineteenth Century: Prophecy, Imagination and Nationhood (2017) examines the place of extraordinary visionary experience in the Victorian culture.

 

Access

The screening will take place in The Melting Pot‘s Workshop Space on the top floor at 5 Rose Street. The building has step free access to the ground floor and a lift to all floors. The Workshop Space is fitted with a hearing loop.
